PLANET PROTEIN ON A STICK PASTA

We love a good pasta dish, but when you're in a rush you don't always have time to cook it yourself. We're making it easier than ever to bring the taste of your favorite Italian dishes into your own kitchen. Our simple recipe features a blend of protein and veggies that is sure to satisfy even the most finicky of eaters. This Planet protein pasta on a stick  is a savory, crispy and light on the tummy plus it's super quick to cook method is sure to be a hit with you and your family members. 😃

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of HerbYvore Garlic and Thyme Planet Protein
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic finely minced
  • 2 cups of minced portobello mushroom (can use any other mushroom)
  • ½ tsp fennel powder
  • 1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tbsp paprika or more if you like it spicy
  • 1tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 ½ tbsp Worchester sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can of chickpea (coarsely mashed)
  • 1/3 cup of rolled oats (coarsely ground)
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp of finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with3 tbsp water to make a slurry.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • oil for deep frying
  • 50 grams baby spinach
  • 100 grams penne cooked according to the package instructions
  • 1 cup of pasta sauce of your choice
  • Salt to taste
  • 25 short bamboo skewers

Instructions:

  • Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the onion until translucent. Add in the minced garlic and sauté for a minute.
  • Add in the mushrooms, once it is well sautéed add the crumbled Garlic & Thyme planet protein and sauté it for 3 minutes.
  • Add in all the seasonings, oats, breadcrumbs and parsley. Mix it well, taste it and flavour it to your preference.
  • Form small balls, may use a scoop to make even size balls.
  • Heat the pan with enough oil for deep frying.
  • Coat the Protein Balls with the corn flour slurry and fry till golden brown.
  • Have fun assembling. Thread the wooden skewer starting with 2 penne, some spinach, Protein Balls, spinach and penne. Drizzle some pasta sauce over this and enjoy.
  • This recipe yield about 20 to 25 Protein Balls.
