HerbYvore Planet Paneer Samosa

Do you know you can make samosas with our Planet Paneer? We love samosas anytime of the day. Whether it is breakfast, snack or dinner, samosas are the best option for all those moments. It is prepared in different ways, one of them is the way we prepare it in this recipe. Another amazing thing about this samosa is that it is vegan and plant based! You can also add your favourite veggies to make it more interesting and nutritious. It is the best snack for your road trips too. So, prepare this vegan lip smacking samosa soon and enjoy!


For Filling:

  • 250 gm finely crushed HerbYvore classic pea paneer
  • 1 medium finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 finely chopped green chilli
  • 2 pinches salt

For Pastry
  • 1 cup powdered all purpose flour
  • 50 g melted plant based butter
  • Oil As needed

1.Take the all-purpose flour, butter, salt and water. Knead them into a dough. Cover it with a wet cotton cloth for some time, so that the dough is ready for fluffy samosa pastries.
2.Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Now Add cumin seeds and roast them for few seconds. Now add onions, green chillies for a minute. Now add all the spices to it alongwith the crushed paneer, juice, and little bit of salt. Mix well and keep aside once it’s done.
3. Now, prepare a semi-circular pastry sheet and place the Paneer filling on top of one half of pastry sheet and roll out into a cone shape before sealing both ends shut using flour paste. Next, press down to ensure that no filling squirts out while rolling up this pastry in its entirety so you have nice thin layers all around.
4.Once the oil is hot, Fry the pastry until golden brown ensuring not to fry for too long otherwise it will become oily.
5.Samosa Pastry is ready to serve with Tomato sauce or mint chutney.
